Knowledge and Attitudes of Farmers Towards the Services Provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt At El-Shakira Governorate

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the degree of knowledge of the farmers in question about the services provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, and to determine the correlation between The degree of farmers’ knowledge of the services provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt and some of the independent variables studied, determining the degree of relative contribution of the independent variables with a significant correlation together in explaining the total variation in the degree of farmers’ knowledge of the services provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, identifying the farmers’ attitude towards the services provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, determining the correlation between the farmers’ attitude towards the services provided by the Egyptian Agricultural Bank and some of the independent variables studied, and determining the relative contribution of the independent variables with a significant correlation together in explaining the total variation in the farmers’ attitude, identifying the most important problems facing the farmers in question when they obtain the services of the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, and their proposals to overcome these. The research was using a social survey approach on a sample of 367 farmers in the Al-Sanafin village branch of the Minya Al-Qamh district, and the San Al-Hajar Village branch of the Al-Husseiniyah district. Field data were collected by a questionnaire form through personal interviews. data were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, weighted average, Pearson’s simple correlation coefficient, and ascending stepwise multiple regression coefficients. The study reached several results which are: The degree of knowledge of the services provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt was average at 64.3%. The results also showed five independent variables that contributed significantly to explaining total variation in the degree of knowledge of the farmers surveyed about the services provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, at 52.5%, These variables are: degree of informal social participation, degree of participation in extension activities, number of family members, degree of leadership, and possession of agricultural machinery. the attitude of the farmers surveyed towards the services provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt was neutral at 78.7%. The results also indicated to six independent variables that contributed significantly to explaining total variation in the attitudes of farmers surveyed towards the services provided by the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, at 54.9%. These variables are: the area of ​​the agricultural holding, age, the number of family members working in agriculture, the number Years of experience in agricultural work, the degree of informal social participation, and the degree of knowledge of the services of the Agricultural Bank of Egypt.
