Abstract

The research aimed to identify the impact of e-commerce on developing the competitiveness of food manufacturing facilities in Alexandria Governorate. The research relied on the descriptive analytical approach and used a simple random sample. The number of members of the study sample was 70 individuals working in the marketing departments of food manufacturing facilities in Alexandria Governorate. The study reached a high level of e-commerce application and an increase in the level of competitiveness of food manufacturing establishments in Alexandria Governorate, and the presence of a positive, statistically significant effect of the level of e-commerce application on developing the competitiveness of food manufacturing establishments in Alexandria Governorate, and the presence of a direct, statistically significant effect of the level of e-commerce application on the development of strategies of focus, excellence, and cost (dimensions of competitiveness) of food manufacturing facilities in Alexandria Governorate. The study recommended the need to pay attention to achieving optimal benefit from e-commerce in achieving economic development and to pay attention to providing methods and means that contribute to encouraging companies and projects working in the field of food manufacturing to use e-commerce and work to provide the capabilities and needs that contribute to increasing the ability of companies and institutions working in the field of food manufacturing to achieve excellence and competitiveness.
