Abstract
Despite the economic importance of Burullus Lake, it has recently been exposed to many problems that have led to a decline in production, both in terms of quantity and quality. The production of fish species with low market value has increased at the expense of fish with high market value, such as mullet, sea bream, and shrimp. This is evident in the development of production, as its production has decreased from 103,801 thousand tons in 2021 to 97,827 thousand tons in 2022, as this led to changes in production lead to fluctuations between The decline and rise were estimated at about 52,260 tons at the beginning of the study, then reached its lowest production rates in 2011, reaching 45,544 tons, then rose to 103,801 thousand tons in 2021, then returned to decline again in 2022, reaching about 97,83 thousand tons. It also showed the diversity of the lake’s fish production between excellent species such as shrimp, sea bass, mullet bream, tilapia, and species with low market value such as anchovies, white, dfas, bream, catfish, oil, white, and others.
By studying the relative importance of fish production of the species caught from Burullus Lake, the study shows that tilapia, the mullet family, catfish, and sea bream are the most productive species, as the relative importance of tilapia reached about 55.98%, while the mullet family represents 13.3%. The relative importance of catfish is estimated at 6.1%, oil 3.6%, and sea bream 5.7%, the dfas 3.1%, and shrimp 2.7%.
By studying the indicators of economic efficiency of production fishing boats in Lake Burullus show that the amount of fishing boat production in Burullus Lake reached About 278 kg/ boat and the total costs amounted to approximately 39,887 pounds. For the boat, while the total return amounted to 59,631 Fairy/ boat, and the net return amounted to about 19,748 EGP / boat.
By studying the variable cost items, it became clear that Labor costs rank first in terms of the relative importance amounted to 24,856 pounds. It accounts for about 62.32% of the total costs. College, followed by the cost of fishing gear worth 4698 represents 11.78% followed by the cost of ice at a value of. 2698 pounds, which represents about 6.76% of the total. Total costs are ranked third, then Fuel costs about 1460 pounds to represent About 3.66% of the total costs, ranking fourth, followed by maintenance costs at 1,240 pounds, representing 3.11% of the total costs. A study of fixed cost items revealed that the cost of the yacht's share of the vessel's depreciation amounted to about 2,893 pounds, representing 7.25% of the total fixed costs. The yacht's share of license and tax costs amounted to about 2,038 pounds, representing 5.11% of the total costs.
By studying the most important factors affecting the production of the raft, it was found that they are the number of workers, the length of the fishing reels in meters, the length of the raft period in hours, and the amount of yarn used in meters. By studying the indicators of economic efficiency of the production of fishing boats in Burullus Lake, it was found that the most important factors affecting the production of the boat are the total costs, the total return, and the net return.
Based on the results of the research It is recommended to increase the state's interest in the lake by establishing a lake protection agency whose goal is to maintain the lake's environment suitable and appropriate for the growth of fish, especially the excellent species, and to reduce the burden on fishermen by reducing the cost of licenses and facilitating the fishing process in the lake by establishing a cooperative association for fishermen whose work is to provide fishing supplies at reasonable prices.
