Knowledge, Implement and Attitude of Cotton Farmers in Itay El Baroud District, El Bahira Governorate

Abstract

This research is mainly aimed to study cotton Farmer Knowledge, Implement and attitude in Itay El-baroud - El-bahira governorate. The data were collected using a questionnaire with a personal interview of 150 cotton Farmers. which were randomly selected from the Farmers of the holders that was inferred from agricultural cooperative associations. Statistical methods such as percentage, frequency tables, range, standard deviation, Pearson's simple correlation coefficient, forward Step wise multiple regression analysis,
The most important findings were:

cotton farmers with high knowledge level was 34%, medium 32.7%, and low 33.3%.
cotton farmers with high Implementation of guidance recommendations level was 34%, medium 30.7%, and low 35.3%.
cotton farmers with positive attitudes towards cotton cultivation was 33.3%, neutral 32%, and negative 34.7%.
It was found that the most influential independent variable on the knowledge of the respondents as a dependent variable is the age of the respondents, and it alone contributes to explaining 32.5% of the possible variance in the dependent variable.
The most influential independent variables on the Implementation of guidance recommendations level of the respondents as a dependent variable are the age of the respondents, and it alone contributes to explaining 30.7% of the possible variance in the dependent variable.
The most influential independent variable on the respondents' attitudes towards cotton farming as a dependent variable is the age of the respondents, and it alone contributes to explaining 34% of the possible variance in the dependent variable
