Awareness of University Youth using Artificial Intelligence Applications in Education

Abstract

The university is considered one of the most important educational institutions in society, due to its duties of teaching, scientific research, and community service and development. It also seeks to build qualified human cadres, which leads to increasing production efficiency and achieving development goals in society. It is a beacon of progress and prosperity for societies. Through it, learners’ personalities are prepared and built and their skills are refined, developed and upgraded. From this standpoint, this research mainly aims to study university youth’s awareness of using artificial intelligence applications in education. To achieve this goal, a questionnaire form was used to identify some personal and socio-economic characteristics. For the youth under study and their families, determining the level of youth knowledge related to the use of artificial intelligence applications in education, the importance of using artificial intelligence applications in education, identifying the nature of university youth’s trends towards using artificial intelligence applications in education, and identifying the reality of using Young people to the applications of artificial intelligence in education, and to identify the views of young people on the challenges facing the use of artificial intelligence applications in education, and to study the differences between the research sample in the level of youth knowledge related to the use of artificial intelligence applications in education and the importance of that, and the nature of university youth’s trends towards using applications. Artificial intelligence in education, the reality of young people’s use of artificial intelligence applications in education, and young people’s opinions on the challenges facing the use of artificial intelligence applications in education according to some variables of the study, and studying the correlation between some of the research variables under study, the research sample included (200 male and female students) from the Faculty of Agriculture - Alexandria University. The research used the descriptive analytical method, and the program was used Spss. version 29 to conduct statistical transactions.
The results showed that 58.5% of the research sample members were between 19 and 21 years old, and that 63% of them were young women. The percentage of students who worked alongside their studies was 21.5%, and 32.5% had a monthly income or expenses ranging between 500- < 1000 pounds, that only 27% of the research sample had a high level of knowledge, compared to 73% of the individuals in the research sample whose knowledge level was average and weak at 42% and 31%, respectively, and that 47% of them had a high level of knowledge about the importance of using artificial intelligence applications in education, compared to 53%, their level of awareness is medium and low, at 40% and 13% respectively. The results also showed the existence of a statistically significant correlation between the level of youth knowledge of using artificial intelligence applications in education and the nature of the trends towards it at a significance level of 0.05, the existence of a relationship A direct correlation between the nature of trends towards using artificial intelligence applications in education and the reality of their use of those applications, at a significance level of 0.05. The study recommended the necessity of working to spread a culture that supports artificial intelligence in higher education institutions in a way that matches the requirements of the job market.
