The Activities of the Extension Field Schools at Kafrelsheikh Governorate "From The Viewpoint of its Members"

Abstract

This research mainly aims to identify the activities of the extension field schools at Kafrelsheikh Governorate "From the viewpoint of its members". For the conduct of this research, the three largest administrative districts in terms of the number of extension field schools were chosen. They were Motobas district had 5 schools in four villages, Desouq district had 4 schools in two villages, and the Qalin district had 4 schools in two villages. The data of the research were collected by personal questionnaire for a random sample of field school members, which consisted of (114) respondents, according to the Kerijcei and Morgan equation. The research used some statistical methods to analysis of data.
 The most important results were concentrated in: The majority of respondents (about 83%) have a high degree of knowledge regarding the activities of agricultural extension field schools, and the majority of them (approximately 88%) appreciate its importance as high. the most important influencing variables were: the respondent’s education, participation in the activities of the field school, attitude towards field schools, contact with the facilitators of the field school, advertising and publicity about the field school at a ratio (5.95, 3.36, 3.02, 2.65, 2.44), respectively. The most participating problems in the activities of the agricultural extension field schools were: low the financial support for the establishment of these schools, the length of the weekly meeting, Absence of the incentives that encourage the attendance of members, lack of the suitable place for the school to hold in the winter season, the unsuitable dates to hold the field school, the facilitators are not given the appropriate financial incentives.
