Rural Women's Awareness of Agricultural Land Resource in Gharbia Governorate

Abstract

This study aimed mainly to identify rural women's awareness of agricultural land resource in Gharbia governorate, and to identify the relationships between the studied independent variables and between awareness of rural women with agricultural land resource. Gharbia governorate has been chosen as spatial field for the study. The research population was delineated as being formed of the whole persons who work in agricultural extension in Gharbia governorate.
Research objectives have been specified in a set of null hypotheses to be tested in this study. Gharbia governorate has been chosen as spatial field for the study. The study population was delineated to be all rural women that have family farmland holding, i.e., those who are land holders or wives of land holders, in Gharbia Governorate. A multi-stage cluster sample of 360 respondents was drawn. Data were collected by personal interviews with sample women.
The main findings of the study could be summarized as follows: - 
1- About 66.4 % of respondents have high level of awareness with agricultural land resource, 31.1 % have medium level, and 2.5 % have low level of awareness with agricultural land resource.
2- There were significant bivariate relationships between age, educational level, benefits from information and between awareness of rural women with agricultural land resource. 
3- -The studied independent variables combined, explained about 9.9 of the variances of the variable of awareness of rural women with agricultural land resource.
