Evaluation Study of the Training Program for Agricultural Extension agents, about the Integrated Red Palm Weevil Management

Abstract

The study is mainly aiming to Evaluation study of the training program effectiveness organized by Agricultural training center in El-Behaira governorate, for agricultural extension workers in the field of horticulture, about the integrated red palm weevil management. The data was collected from 40 field agents who were attended the training program, the data was collected using two questionnaires were prepared and utilized before the beginning and after the completion of the training program.
The study used number of statistical methods including percentages, means, frequencies, standard deviation, and Paired sample t-test.
The most important results are summarized as follows:

The percentage of agricultural extension agents with a good level of knowledge after training (70%) compared to that before training (40%).
The percentage of agricultural extension agents with a weak level of knowledge after training (0%) compared to that before training (7.5%).
The level of knowledge of the trained trainees improved after attending the program in all training topics.
The program achieved its desired goals by developing and maximizing the capabilities and professionalism of agricultural extension agents.
