The repercussions of adjustment disorder between couples, as perceived by the wife and its relationship to the family alienation of children

Abstract

The current search aimed mainly to reveal the nature of the relationship between the repercussions of adjustment disorder between couples as perceived by the wife and the children family alienation; Where the data were met by the application of the research tools represented in (general data form - repercussions of adjustment disorder between couples Scale as perceived by the wife - the family alienation of children Scale) on a intentional sample of (263) wife and (263) of their teenage children from different socio-economic levels, and to conducting appropriate statistical analyzes to draw conclusions; the search resulted in a set of results, the most important of which were; There were a positive statistically significant correlation between the repercussions of adjustment disorder between couples as perceived by the wife (marital violence against wife- marital silence-  total score) and family alienation of children (sense loss of family belonging and loyalty- non-compliance with family values and standards- egocentricity- total score), Also there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the research sample  in repercussions of adjustment disorder (dimensions- total score) as perceived by the wife according to the nature of the residence where the level of repercussions of adjustment disorder increased among
 residing with the husband's family compared to residents of single homes, And there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the research sample  in the repercussions of adjustment disorder (dimensions- total score) as perceived by the wife according to the place of residence except for (marital silence) where the level of marital silence increased among urban residents compared to rural residents, The results also showed there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the research sample  in the repercussions of adjustment disorder (dimensions - total score) as perceived by the wife according to the level of family income, except for (Marital violence directed against the wife) Whose level increased among the research sample in low-income families. On the other side statistically  significant differences were found between the mean scores of children in family alienation according to gender ;where the level of (Sense loss of family belonging and loyalty) increased among males compared to females,while the level of (egocentricity) increased among females compared to males, And there were no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the children in family alienation (dimensions - total score) according to  size of the family, and the educational level of mother.
In light of the results the researcher suggested numbers of recommendations that explain some preventive and curative measures that aims to intensify efforts made by state institutions concerned with the family, media and security agencies to reduce the repercussions of adjustment disorder between couples, as well as to parents to prevent family alienation of children.
