The Research, Educational and Communicational ’S Role of the Agricultural Research Station in Itay El-Baroud, in Serving the Surrounding Rural Areas. (Case Study)

The research mainly aimed at identifying the research, educational and communication role of the Agricultural Research Station in Itai Al-Baroud in serving the surrounding rural areas, and the means to achieve this goal were limited to the following sub-goals: (1) To study the variation in the level of achieving the objectives of the agricultural research station now and the level to be achieved in the future from the viewpoint of the researched agricultural researchers. (2) Study the correlation between the level of achieving the goals of the agricultural research station currently and the personal and professional characteristics of the researched agricultural researchers. (3) Identify the most important problems that impede the agricultural research station's achievement of its goals from the point of view of both categories of researchers and extension workers and their proposals to overcome them.
The data necessary to achieve the research objectives were obtained. The research was limited to the research groups operating in the agricultural research station, where the total number of researchers was 62 (full-time researcher 18, head of research 3, senior researcher 6, researcher 20, assistant researcher 15) by personal interview from the members of the research sample, The data were analyzed and the results were presented using percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and frequency tables, in order to describe and classify the respondents according to their different characteristics, and to clarify the essential differences between the level of achieving the goals of the agricultural research station currently and the level to be achieved, the analysis of variance was used, and the computer was used. In the process of statistical analysis using the statistical program (SPSS).
The most prominent results are as follows:
1- The general average expressing the current status of the research activities of the agricultural research station under study, the results indicated that the general average percentage was 54.76%, and it was found that the general average for the role hoped to achieve in this field was (84,157%).
2- The percentage of the general average expressing the current state of the educational activities of the agricultural research station under study was (54.71%), and it became clear that the general average of the educational role hoped to be achieved in this field was (87,316%).
1-    The general average expressing the current status of the current communicative role of the agricultural research station under study, where the general average percentage was (49.41%), and it was found that the general average of the desired communicative role reached (83.75%).
2-    There are substantial differences of statistical significance at the probability level (0.01) between the agricultural research station's achievement of its current goals and the future hope for them.
3-    The presence of a significant correlation relationship  at a significant level (0.05) between the level of achieving the objectives of the agricultural research station currently and the following independent research variables (scientific rank, duration of service in the research field, duration of service in the agricultural field, and the presence of a significant correlation relationship at a significant level) (0.01)) between the level of achieving the objectives of the agricultural research station currently and the following independent research variables (origination, professional training, dependence on information sources, job satisfaction, degree of difficulty in contacting farmers, farmers' response to the services and activities provided to the station, the importance of criteria for selecting research topics.
6- The results indicated that the most important problems facing the agricultural research station in Itay Al-Baroud to achieve its objectives to serve rural areas from the researchers' point of view were the lack of modern laboratory equipment and scientific research requirements, and the limited means of communication with farmers.
